The Canadiens get a chance to wrap up the best-of-7 ganie set tomorrow night in their home rink. The turning point came early in the second period with Montrf 11 trailing 1-0. With two men in the penalty box, the Canadiens held off a Philadelphia onslaught. Men, in less than nine minutes, Montreal had three goals. In addition to Houle, Mac Tardif and Ivan Cournoyer scored for the Canadiens. The defeat left the Flyers facing the herculean task of beating the Canadiens three straight, including two on Montreal ice, if they hope to reach the Stanley Cup finals. Bill Barber, who led all National Hockey League rookies in scoring this season, fired a 30-footer that was deflected into the net by Bobby Clarke at 4:08 of the first period to giye Philadelphia a 1-0 lead. The score was on a power play as Montreal's Jim Roberts rested in the penalty box for tripping. In the second period, Montreal's Larry Robinson was caught hooking at 2:01, and 37 seconds later was joined in the box by Roberts, guilty this time of hooking. The Flyers appeared a cinch to boost their one-goal margin with the 5-3 advantage but didn't. This failure to exploit the two-man . edge seemed to take the fire out of the Flyers. Houle tied it when he deflected a 45- footer by Pierre Bouchard past Flyers goalie Doug Favell at 7:38.
