I —The Daily Collegian Friday, November 17, 1972 'SuperMud'shown The 6th Annual Ceramic Arts Conference will be held today and tomorrow along with the “Super Mud ’72" exhibit in the Edwin W. Zoller Gallery at the Visual Arts Building. According to James Stephenson, assistant professor of art, “The exhibition and ceramics conference together provide an insight into the latest trends being developed within the field of ceramics all over the country " The conference includes students, faculty and private potters from 17 states as far away as Texas and Wisconsin who come together for seminars and lectures. Guest lecturers this year include Jun Kaneko. of the University of New Hamp shire, Jeff Schlanger, an artist from New l’.ochelle. Featured is work by students and faculty from Penn State, Chicago Art Institute, Kansas City Art In stitute, Edinboro State College, Tyler School of Art and the University of Wisconsin. The exhibit includes everything from traditional and utilitarian pottery to more experimental forms such as unfired clay. "Supermud 72” provides an excellent opportunity for students to exhibit their work. Too often students are excluded from most regional or national exhibits,” Stephenson said.
