Absentee
As the •day of state elections
approaches, a special situation
arises for University students eli
gible to vote.
By being in State College, Most
students are away from their vot
ing districts and, with election
day falling during the academic
week, many students will find it
difficult to return home to vote.
To solve this problem, eligible
students may apply foi an absen
tee ballot which will enable them
to vote without leaving Centre
County.
ACCORDING TO the 1962
Pennsylvania Election Guide, any
qualified elector of Pennsylvania,
who is properly registered and en
rolled and who on the day of elec
tion is unavoidably absent from
the county of his voting residence
by reason of his duties, business
or occupation, is entitled to vote
by absentee ballot.
