PRILADELPHIA, April 18
.he University of Pennsylvania's
baseball team played the perfect
host today, giving visiting Penn
State a baseball game, 7-6.
The two teams took turns try
ing to hand each other the win on
chilly Murphy Field. State (4-1)
finally accepted the victory from
the hapless Quakers (2-4). It was
the second straight win and the
fourth loss in a row for Penn.
LefthancLer Bob •Fenton was the
benefactor of the Quakers' sloppy
play, boosting his record to 3-0
with a two-hit performance in
relief of State starter Marlin
Biesecker.
THE LIONS collected only four
hits off the combined offerings
of loser Glen Tobias (1-0 and
Marvin Goldklang, but five Penn
errors and five key walks helped
pave the way to the win. The
QUakers wasted eight hits and
four Lion errors.
The game was scoreless until
the last half of the fourth inning
wben the Lions started the gener
osity by giving the Quakers a run.
Penn catcher Bob Zajac led off
the frame with a single, but rßie
seeker retired the next two men.
Mike Tate then hit a liner to left
for another single, Zajac coming
around to score as Lion left
fielder Roger Kochman bobbled
the ball. I.
The Quakers returned the favor
three-fold in the State half of the
fifth..
DON JONAS walked to start
the State rally, took second on a
sacrifice and third on a wild pitch.
Kochinan then hit a sacrifice fly
to short right field. scoring Jonas.
Bieseeker reached on an error,
centerfielder .Dick Pae walked
and Don Robinson doubled for the
Nittanies' first hit in the inning.
Third sacker 'Fred Light followed
with . a two-run single before
Tobias put out the fire.
Penn tied the _score with three
