Powerful Ithaca whipped the Lions, 14-5, on Beaver Field yesterday in a game that»was decided in the first half of the the first inning. The Nittanies were 2-0 going into the game, but; Ithaca quickly put an end to any, Lion hopes of extending the streak to three. The' Bombers, in mid-season form after a nine-game exhibition tour of North Carolina and Vir ginia, scored five runs in the top of the first to put; the game out of reach of the bumbling Lions. ITHACA ADDED four runs in the* third and three more' in the fourth to turn the contest into a rout Sophomore Jeff Spanier, ace righthander Marlin Biesecker and Dick .Stellman were battered for' the .14 runs. Spanier lasted only two-thirds; at an inning in his first start. The! lanky righthander surrendered' only one hit - hut three walks forced a run across the plate.
