Looking Glass It just occurred to me that you —the readers—might be won dering why this little talk about Ethel Meserve's is entitled "Through the Looking Glass." Of course. some of you prob ably did not even notice that this was the title. These peo ple do the following. STOP reading immediately (don't peak to see what's ahead! •Aha —I caught you!) LOOK at the title and the picture above! 0.K., now you can continue reading. There are so many of you who, while walking along Collefe Avenue, stop in front of Ethel Meserve's, look• in the window (the looking glass symbol i:im!), and admire all the things. But you never quite get to push open the door (which, for your information, does say push ,and not pull. Whether it says push or pull, you think that all the prices are high. But you CAN get beautiful things at moderate prices—and here's the store for that. So next time have courage and enter Ethel Meserve's and discover all the beautiful things here. BREAD AND BUTTER gifts, I mean! I'm sure that all of you, at least office, have stayed at someone's home and have brought your hostess a gift. Well, these are "bread and butter" gifts. (See, this column is sOOO informative!) Ethel has the cutest ones like a ease with about twelve tooth brushes, each in a separate pocket, for only $2. This is very useful since many people (even you) often forget their toothbrush or decide to stay over on the spur of the moment. Do you remember the date of your parents' anniversary? C'mon now, think! Ethel has beautiful ash trays, fruit bowls. and many other things that will just fit the bill. If you don't know what to get, just walk in and look around an idea Will soon come into your head. PINS for all you coeds. No.- Ethel is not selling fraternity pins. Sorry!! These are the cutest, and also very inexpensive. They'll brighten up your ward robe. Now I'll tell you what kind they are. Animal pins mice, cats ,--- with or without fur. Instead of wearing a circle pin all the time, get these. The fuzzy ones, only $1.50 each, and the unfuzzy ones, only $.50 each. Now that I've told you about some of the things which you can buy here that are within your budget. So get into the "Ethel habit". Remember, tell them "Gabhi sent you." So long, Gabbi P.G.
