Sections of the brick and lime stone facing above the ground floor of Pollock 5 are missing, creating what many area residents call an unsightly appearance. Walter Wiegand, Director of the Physical Plant, said the damage does not stem from a structural defect, but was caused by improper installation of the brick and limestone by the contractor. Director of Housing, Otto Muel ler, said that damage stemmed from the contractor making an error in following the architect's specifications. The error caused an excessive amount of weight to be supported by the facing, caus ing it to crack. Due to the danger of the facing falling on passers by it was removed, he said. The contractor is reported to be waiting for new limestone to re pair the damage but does not know when the repairs will be completed. Cannon Writes Articles For Chemical Journals Michael R.
