FRIDAY, APRIL 21. 1961 Williams Protests 'lnefficiency' By Resigning Committee Post Gomer Williams, chairman of the lobbying subcommittee of the SGA Back the Budget Committee resigned his post yesterday in a protest move against what he termed "a com mittee that does nothing." Williams said that the efforts I of the committee are not being coordinated and the chairmen of the subcommittees don't know what they're doing. In citing his reasons for re signing. Williams said that he had been under pressure from both within and outside the committee. He declined to comment on the source of the pressure. Williams said that he felt thei members of the committee andl the subcommittees had more in-1 terest in a student activity than in working for the $23.1 million appropriation President Eric A.l Walker requested from the state.
