PAGE EIGHT Sigma Pi Upsets Beta In IM Swim By DAVE LEONARD Sigma Pi pulled the upset of the year in JM swimming last night by edging defending cham pion Beta Theta Pi, 22-19, at Glennland Pool. The outcome wasn’t decided un-: til the final event when Sigma Pi’s relay team raced home inches ahead of Beta. The team com-! posed of Roy Rasmussen, Lou Benzak, Deiter Heinz, and Doug! Williams recorded a 1:01.1. In other meets, Phi Gamme Della swamped Phi Mu Delta. 30-5, and Navy defeated Nittany 35, 25-7. Tom Parry and Jay Stormer led Phi Gam to victory. Parry took a first place in the breaststroke in 44.5 and copped first in div ing with a 15.11. Stormer turned in a first place time of 32,9 in the 00-yard freestyle, and finished a close second io Parry in diving. Jon He:ch .of Navy turned in the best time of the evening, a 'flashy 40.4 in the backstroke. An oddity occurred during the meet when all four contestants in the breaststroke were disqualified for illegal strokes.
