PAGt TWO 150 Debaters Arrive For Competition Approximately 150 debaters from state and out-of-state schools will arrive today to register for the 26th Annual Joseph F, O’Brien Inter-State Debaters' Congress being spon sored by the Men's Debate Team. The model congress will con tinue until Saturday and will de bate, pass' or reject bills on the topics "What Should Be the Pol icy ot the United States With Re spect to Red China” and "Should the United States Adopt a Pro gram of Compulsory Health In surance.” After registration today, dele gates will attend an informal re ception at 7 p.m. ■ in the main lounge of the Hetzel Union Build ing. The congress will convene for its first assembly session at 9 a.m. tomorrow in the assembly room of the' HUB. Dr. Robert G. Bern reuter, special assistant to the President for student affairs, will present an address of welcome. A dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the dining room of the HUB with David Goodhart as toastmaster. According to James Sloane, freshman class president, the meetings were held for freshmen in all of the residence halls to acquaint them with the purpose and structure of the board and its projects. As a result of the freshman opinion voiced at the meetings, the board voted to hold a com bined Freshma n-Sophomore Dance on March 24th rather than a separate freshman dance. They also voted to sponsor a Class Night on May. 12th. In addition, a suggestion box will be placed in the Hetzel Un ion Building and freshmen will be encouraged to suggest possible class-sponsored projects. It was also suggested that a contest be held for a Frosh Queen, but no specific action will be taken until the next meeting. Dr. Frood has already ordered 9,652 “Remember How Great” records.
