THURSDAY, JANUARY 5. 1961 Matmen Seek Comeback Against Unbeaten Lehigh There's an old saying abou into the fire, and. the Penn Sta that when they meet undefeat day. State saw its 12-meet winn holidays when powerful Mich at Ann Arbor. Now Lehigh. with one of its finest squads in years, has ideas of starting the Liens on a new streak a losing one. How good are the Engineers? That's a question Coach Gerry Leeman would like to forget un til after the State meet. However, mat experts feel that the Engineers may be the best team in the east. Leeman's crew has licked Cornell, 27-0, lowa State. 24.8, and Syracuse, 25-6. From 130 to 191 Lehigh has yet to lose a match. "They look real good,;' Leeman admits, "but let's wait until that Penn State meet before we build 'em up too much." Despite the loss to Michigan the Lions should give the En gineers a tough tussle. Although the Wolverine defeat came as a shock lo many local mat fans, Lion prestige suffered little in defeat. Michigan is one of the most powerful teams in the nation. Ranked third by the Amateur Wrestling News, the official publication of the American Coaches and Officials Associa tion, Michigan was runner-up to Pitt in the Wilkes open tour nament during the holidays. Don Corriere (157), Denny Fitz gerald (167), and Carl Fink (191) captured crowns for the Wolver- Lions Test Colgate-- , (Continues from page aix) prime -candidate for All-East hon ors. He averaged 21.4 in 1959-60 and this season he is just a shade under that mark. He gets plenty of help from cap tain Ken Norum who is one of the best shooters in Colgate cage history. In addition to being a dangerous scorer, the 6-5 Norum 1 Colgate's top rebounder. Three other veterans, Dave Davenport, John Doyle and Mel Watkins round out Colgate's starting lineup. The Raiders stand at 6-4 after losing to Bucknell, 104-62, in Lewisburg last night. Colgate may be without its coach, Howie Hartman, tonight. Hartman was in Miami for his father's funeral Monday and he is not expected to be with the team tonight. In that case, Asst. Athletic Director Bob Dewey will coach the Red Raiders. Two new faces will be. in the Lion lineup tonight. The new ad ditions are footballers Bill Saul and Don Jonas. Another foot baller Dave Robinson has not yet reported for practice.
