PAGE EIGHT Young Farmers Hold Confab The Pennsylvania Young Farm ers Association held their annual convention yesterday in the Hetz el Union Building. Dr. Glenn Z. Stevens, campus co-ordinator of the convention, said that the purpose of the meet ing was to bring about an ex change of ideas in an effort to advance systematic instruction in vocational agriculture. The morning session began with a welcome by Dr. Lyman E. Jack son, dean of the College of Agri culture, followed -by a keynote address by Raymond E. Evans, assistant editor of the Pennsyl vania Farmer. The afternoon session featured musical selections by the Alpha Zeta Quartet and the awarding of six outstanding farmer awards. The convention toured the Swine Research Center and the Meats Products Laboratory. The meet ings were ended with a dinner in the Terrace Room Cafeteria. Missing Your Bicycle? The Societa which was formed less than 10 years ago is making its fifth tour of the United States and Canada. The American •tour began Sept. 19 in Vancouver and will end with a performance •in New York city shortly before Christmas. They have recently completed a series of concerts in Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. The Societa Corelli, named for the 17th century violinist and composer Arcangelo Corelli, was formed under the auspices of the Italian government in 1953 on the 300th anniversary of Corelli's birth.
