Tribunal A irs Cases
On Theft, Conduct
A sophomore in education, who pleaded guilty to charges
of shoplifting, was recommended for disciplinary probation
for one year ending June, 1961, by the Off-Campus Tribunal
Wednesday.
The case must be reveiwed by the Senate Sub-Committee
Seniors to File
Payment Terms
All graduating seniors who still
owe on their loans under the
National Defense Education Act
are reminded that they must file
a repayment schedule.
This schedule is to be filed by
May 18 in the student loan office,
6 Willard.
H. FL Gilbert, processar of stu
dent loans, said that seniors plan
ning a teaching career or a tour
in military service should acquire
a certification that they are eli
gible for credits before Jeaving
the University.
Students going into teaching
may obtain credits up to 59 per
cent of the total loan, They are
obtained at the rate of le per
cent a year.
Students entering the military
service may qualify for a grace
period of three years on the pay
ment of the principal and interest
of their loans.
Pageant Tickets
Are Now Available
Tickets for the Miss Centre]
County pageant, to he held at
8 p.m, today in the Bellefonte ,
Junior High School auditorium,
are on sale at Woodring's Fieral
Gardens in town or from any
member of the Jaycees.
According to Doyle Corman,:
chairman of the event, these tick-,
ets are only temporary. A ticket
entitles the purchaser to go to
Pennington's News Agency in
Bellefonte and select a reserved ,
seat, he said,
Tiophies for the annual contest,
in which six University coeds are
entered, will be on display in the
Book Exchange showcase in the
Hetzel Unton Building.

office.
One student pleaded guilty to'
charges of disorderly conduct and
driving while under the influence
of alcoholic beverages.
In addition to surrendering his
driver's license for one year, the

,probation and required to pay a
fine of $lOO by the county court.
The Tribunal warning has
been set aside by the dean of
men's office and the student
will instead be placed on pro
bation with that office con

ty to charges of operating a motor
vehicle without registration plates.

In repealing the tribunal warn
ing, the dean of men's office has
recommended that the student be
placed on disciplinary probation

tate sub-committee on discipline.

Will Open
Construction of the darn across Shaver Creek in the Stone
Valley Recreational Area has been completed and the lake is
filled, Lawrence J. Perez, who is in charge of constructing
the clam, said.

lake needed a summer's time to
clean itself up. He said It took
that long for the twigs and other
debris on the bootom of the lake,
left over from construction, to
float to the top.
The area will be used by the
University forestry classes and
the other groups that regularly
use this area this summer. The
camps in the area will still be
used for department picnics and
by the Outing Club for camping.
Other groups that use the area for
workshops every year will be
able to use them as before, Fergu
son said.
The University owns 6400
acres of land in the Stone Valley
region. A forestry camp, a civil
engineering camp and a mineral
industries camp are located in the
Tobacco Company
