Golfers Beat Bisons,
Clinch Winning Log
By JOHN MORRIS
The Penn State golf team
clinched a winning season
yesterday by downing highly
touted Bucknell, 13 1 4-714„, on
the Bison's home links.
Coach Joe Boyle's Lions now
stand at 6-3 with only two meets
to go on a rough schedule.
The Lions played under the
Nassau scoring system for the
second time this year and made
quick work of Bucknell's Middle
Atlantic Conference champs.
In Nassau match scoring points
are awarded for the low scores
on the first and second nines.
and another point is given for
the lowest total score.
Lion captain Dick Burgoon led
the onslaught against the Bisons,
The lanky senior was medalist
for the day with' a 72 and beat
MAC individual champion Bob
Etzweiler, 3-0,
Bob Devine rebounded from a
poor showing in last weekend's
EIGA tourney with a 74, good
enough for a 3-0 win over Bison
second man Jerry Lindholm.
Bob Schad split the front nine
point with little Roy Altman,
but had little trouble from the
Lion veteran on the last nine
