MAY 12. 1960 Golfers Beat Bisons, Clinch Winning Log By JOHN MORRIS The Penn State golf team clinched a winning season yesterday by downing highly touted Bucknell, 13 1 4-714„, on the Bison's home links. Coach Joe Boyle's Lions now stand at 6-3 with only two meets to go on a rough schedule. The Lions played under the Nassau scoring system for the second time this year and made quick work of Bucknell's Middle Atlantic Conference champs. In Nassau match scoring points are awarded for the low scores on the first and second nines. and another point is given for the lowest total score. Lion captain Dick Burgoon led the onslaught against the Bisons, The lanky senior was medalist for the day with' a 72 and beat MAC individual champion Bob Etzweiler, 3-0, Bob Devine rebounded from a poor showing in last weekend's EIGA tourney with a 74, good enough for a 3-0 win over Bison second man Jerry Lindholm. Bob Schad split the front nine point with little Roy Altman, but had little trouble from the Lion veteran on the last nine IM Golf Tournament Moves into Quarters Eight fraternity teams will com pete this week for the quarter final spots in IM golf as the tour nament enters the third week of competition.
