After preliminary points for each judging basis are awarded, the winners will be computed by awarding points under an over-ail point system which will count toward the Spring Week trophy. Thirty points will be awarded for first place in the parade, 20 for second place and 10 for third. Nine trophies will be awarded; one for each of the three places in each of the categories. He said, "We must ask the American non-Catholic to view things in a more historical and theological context." Clancy added that non-Calholics often lake the doctrines of the Cath olic Church more seriously than Catholics. “There is as sharp a division of thought among Catholics as among any other American community,” Clancy said. “The documents of the Ro man Catholic Church are largely irrelevant to American politics and it is unfair to ask a politician to explain them away,” he said.
