place in the sports writing contest
sponsored by Sigma Delta Chi,
men's professional journalistic
fraternity.
Five winning stories from the
1958-59 school year were entered
in competition with 70 under
graduate chapters. The Collegian
also submitted entries in tha news,
editorial, and feature writing
contests.
The award was presented to

ter president, who attended SDX's
national convention last week in
Indianopolis, Ind. t l

Rink May Open
in Mid-December
Ernest B. McCoy, dean of the
College of Physical Education and
Athletics, said the ice skating
rink will probably open in mid-
December.
McCoy said, "Much remains to
be done, however, before we can
be certain that a December open
ing will be feasible." Weather and
other factors will influence the
completion date of the project.
