TUESDAY. OCR ■BER 6. 1959 New acuity Members Announced A number of new appoint-j ments to the faculty have been! approved by the Board of : Trustees. Among them are Dr. Elizabeth! M. Ray, associate professor of! home economies; Dr. Jennetter Veatch, associate professor of ele-| mentary education; Dr. Carl J. Schaefer, associate professor of industrial education; and A. Jay Hirsch, lecturer in accounting. Dr. Ray will act as research specialist in home economics edu-i cation. She will encourage and’ extend basic research on a state-' ■wide basis. She will also assist graduate students in their re search. Dr. Veatch has taught during, summer sessions here. She has! formerly been on the faculty at New York University, University! of Illinois, Indiana University,; Syracuse University, Goucher! College and University ef Wiscon-: sin. From 1955 to 1958, she was, director of program development! at the National Headquarters of, the Girl Scouts of America. . Schaefer has been with the De partment of Education in Ohio! for. the past four years. He was! assistant superintendent in trade 1 and industrial education. Schaefer has done research in industrial education and post-; secondary education, and has written numerous articles on his > findings. Hirsch is a graduate of the Uni-! versity who has been doing grad-! uate work at the University of! Illinois.
