Kikla Triumphs
In Relief Role
By SANDY PADWE
There are two ways to win
a hall game—the hard and
easy ways. Penn State's base
ball team has proved one thing
in its first two outings, it can
win them the hard way.
Yesterday the Lions came from
three runs hack to nip Bucknell,
8-7, in extta innings at Beaver
Field. They did mst about the
tame thing in the opener last

PENN STATE
Net Captain Leads
Lions to 9-0 Victory
By CARMELLA LASPADA
I History repeated itself yesterday when the Penn State
tennis team with almost effortless ease shutout the Juniata
Indians 9-0, sweeping all six singles and two doubles matches
—every one in straight sets at Huntingdon.
Penn State's Captain Chuck Bibleheimer blanked the
Indians' number one man, Jack Merrill, in the first set, 6-0,
and took the second set, 6-2.
Each Penn State player fol
lowed Bibleheimer in doing a
repeat performance in blanking
out his opponent in the first
set.
Sophomore Dick Ludwig's fore
hand looked impressive in his
victory over Juniata's Ray Pfron
ger by shutting the Indians out,
6-0, in the first set and taking
; the second set 6-2. Jerry Carp had
ian easy time defeating Dick Ott
'by 6-0 in the first set and 6-1
in the second set.
Veteran Don Harnett, play
ing his first match of the season.
chalked up an impressive vic
tory defeating Don Murnich 6.0,
6-2. Harnett had missed thc;
Lions' opener against Cornell
due to illness.
Gary Moore defeated the In
dians' Pete Christie in the number
five match, 6-0, 6-1.
Rookie Don McCartney who
shut out Juniata's Jim Lear in
both sets, 6-0, 6-0, looked like a
veteran in his first varsity sin
gles match.
The highlighted doubles event
featured a 6.4, 6-0 win over
Pfronger and Christie by Lions
John Blanck and Don McCart
