PAGE TWELVE IFC to Hold Pledge Date Discussion The Interfraternity Council will open discussion Monday night on the establishment of a formal pledging date for the spring se mester. The council, which will hold a dinner meeting at 5:45 p m. Mon day at Alpha Gamma Rho, will also discuss proposals to have the University withhold diplomas to fraternity members who have debts to the fraternity. Under the present deferred rushing system, the pledging date may be set any time between the 7th and 10th weeks of the spring semester. Freshmen will begin rushing the first day of the spring semester. James Hammer°le, administra tive vice president, said the IFC executive committee will probab ly consider the establishment of a pledging (late at its meeting Monday afternoon. He also said the discussion on recommending to the University the withholding of diplomas and class grades of fraternity mem bers who have accounts receiv able with their chapters will be in its first stages. The group ►s expected to make no concrete recommendation Mon day but merely see how prevalent the problem is among the frater nities and whether the University is willing to cooperate with the fraternities. The patrolman's call was made at 9:50 a.m. According to Olver, Lewis placed a call to Alpha Fire Co. at 9:59 a.m., asking for an am bulance. The secretary there immediate ly phoned driver Hubert Corl, 119 1 / 2 S. Burrowes Rd., and Ray mond G. Williams, a custodian of Old Main. The reason she called both men is that there must be two men in lan ambulance. It left Alpha Station at 10:021 a.m. Williams didn't have enough lime to get to the station, /Di ver said, so he met the emer gency car at the corner of Bur rowes and Pollock Roads. They drove from there to the accident. Williams said it was definitely before 10:10 a.m. when the am bulance arrived on the scene. In the meantime, the patrol man at the accident had called the station again to make sure an ambulance was on its way. When Lewis called the fire sta tion to check, the line was busy, so the patrolman decided to_ go to the dispensary to get a doctor to attend the man. When the patrolman returned to the accident, the ambulance had arrived. Swearingen was taken to Cen tre County Hospital where he was reported in good condition last night.
