PAGE EIGHT Off-Campus Living Rises 12 Per Cent A Department of Housing survey issued yesterday shows that 45.4 per cent of the University’s men students live in private off-campus or trailer housing. The figure is a 12.4 per cent increase over last year’s totals, Otto E. Mueller, director of the department, said. A total of 4417 men live in private] off-campus housing and 396 live in trailers. The University’s 55 fraternities house 19.6 per cent of the men students, a total of 2089. This per centage does not include 159 stu dents who are affiliated with fra ternities but who do not live in the houses. A breakdown by classes, finds 709 junior men. 676 seniors. 612 sophomores, and 42 freshmen living in the fraternity houses. The number of men students living at home dropped from 19 per cent last year to 8.9 per cent fhis fall, Mueller said.
