Dulles ' eports Seeks i Tunisia Li S Inte ention WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 (iP)—: Secretary of State John Foster, Dulles reported today that Tunisia: has requested American support in a move to denounce France be fore the United Nations for bomb ing a Tunisian border village last Saturday. Dulles said it would be perma-, ture to decide whether to back any such complaint because Tu was vague about what the. United Nations might do. He appealed to both sides to minimize the impact of the bomb ing and seek to develop close and friendly relations of the kind he believes necessary between North Africa and Western Europe. Dulles talked aout the French- Tunisian crisis at a news confer ence where he carefully sought to steer a middle course. He hinted, however, he might favor international discussion of the quarrel unless the Fr e n c'h took quick steps to calm the situ ation. Dulles spoke out an hour after French Ambassador Herve Al phand called at the State Depart ment to advise that his govern ment is considering paying an in demnity to the families of the 78 persons killed and 84 pounded in the bombing assault. At the same time, Tunisian Am bassador Mongi Slim in New York sounded out other .nations in an effort to obtain support for a protest to the U.N. Security Council. Attorney Protests McSorleyConviction HARRISBURG, Feb. 11 OM G. Franklin McSorley, former Pennsylvania Turnpike Commis sion chairman, was convicted on speculative evidence, his attorney claimed today. McSorley, a Pittsburgh busi nessman. was found guilty of mis conduct in office. The charge spe cified he allowed a chauffeur to remain on the turnpike payroll while he drove for a former com mission chairman, Thomas J. Ev ans. Harold McCamey, McSorley's lawyer, told the Dauphin County Court en bane today: "You just can't assume a man is guilty, as was done by the pros ecution—you have to show motive —you have to show gain." He later asserted: "The prose cution speculated a lot in this case and failed to overcome a pre sumption with evidence." Dist. Atty. Huette F. Dowling contended the state had presented "a good case." He said the de fense was "capably represented" and the trial "eminently fair." Fergus Heads 'Wilt' Project Dr. Charles L. Tunisia says the attack last Saturday on the frontier vil lage of Sakiet Sidi Youssef left 68 persons dead, 84 wounded and 10 missing. France says the raid. was in reprisal for Algerian rebel• action against the French forces from Tunisian soil. Gaillard deplored the killing of civilians "in this most regrettable incident," but declared most of, the victims were Algerian rebels.'
