FRIDAY. NOVEMBER 3. 1957 Mardi Gras Kings To Parade Tonight Twenty-four candidates for Mardi Gras king will parade with their royal retinues in a motorcade tonight. The parade will form at the Jordon Fertility parking lot at 7:30 tonight and wind around the Nittany-Pollock area and the new women's dorms, arriving at Recreation Hall at 8 p.m. Each car may contain no more than four sponsor group members and their king. This year for the first time the kings must wear a costume related to -their sponsor group's theme. The parade will be cancelled in case of rain. Announcement of the cancellation would be made during the 6 p.m. news broadcast over radio station WMAJ The on Gras carnival based on Creole and French life in New Orleans will begin when the parade arrive,- at 8 p.m. and continues until 11 p.m. Participating groups may begin setting. up booths in ?tee Hall at 5 p.m. They will be assisted by members of Mortar Board and Alpha Phi Omega, men's national service fraternity. At 9:30 p.m. the kings will be presented in their stately array. for may cast penny votes for the king of their choice until 10:30 p.m., when the five finalists with the highest number of penny votes • will be announced. Each penny counts as one point. The tournament is the first this semester for the team. Teams from the United States and Can ada will participate. The teams will debate the national topic.
