His appointment was approved at the weekend meeting of the executive committee of the Board of Trustees. He fills the position held by Harold M Hipsh until his death on May Michelson. whose appointment became effective Aug. 1, has been president of Odin Associates, Pasadena. Calif, an engineering research organization engaged in advanced studies for military agencies and missile developers. Michelson was a research engi neer at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena when he founded the company in 1954.
