A year and a hall ago Majka narrowly escaped death in a Vermont cabin fire in which i another student was burned to death. The fire occurred in Feb- ruary, 1956. during the acmes- ler vacation. Majka sustained frostbite as he was forced from the cabin in his bare feet. Charles Keithline Jr., then a pledge at Delta Chi. was trapped on the cabin's second floor and died in the flames. Jo seph Duraney of Brownfield and Eric Proudfoot of Oil City were also in the cabin and escaped with minor injuries. All were attending a New Eng-i land winter carnival during their vacation.
