Don Costanzo’s 180 average paced the Aces to a 41-3 second half record and a three-game edge over the Pollock 9 keglers in League A. George Morgan supported Cos tanzo with a 169 per-game mark, while Mel Royer led the runners up with a 184 average—tops for the “A” circuit. “A" results: Costanzo tossed a 233 game and 588 series in lead ing the Aces to a crown-clinching 4-0 victory over the Jordan 2 quintet Lloyd Klinger rolled a 218 games and felled 530 pins for the match to pace Jordan. Pollock 9 also closed with a shutout posting a whitewash win over the Termites. Joe Garger (202-521) was tops for the win ners. Jack Neifert (202-519) sparked the Splits to a 4-0 win over the C-E.’s; and the UFO’s beat the Holy Rollers, 3-1. Bowling Tournament Entries for the first annual University Bowling Tournament are due May 10 at the Recreation Hall alleys. The tourney will be held May 13 through May 18. PENNSYLVANIA The rest of the singles entrants for the Lions finds Bibleheimer in the second spot, Galiardi in third spot, Questa in the fourth slot, and Dick Jacob- in the sixth po rtion. Navy, who defeated the Lions 9-0 last year, enters the meet with a 7-3 record. The Middies have been beaten by only the top three schools in the Ivy League —Yale, Princeton and Harvard. Three of Navy’s top six play ers of last year return from the 1956 edition and the Middies are bolstered by several good soph omore prospects. The returning veterans include John Griffiths, the number two man, Don Clark, the fourth man, and Bill Goggins. Other holdovers returning for Coach Art Hendrix are Dick Han nan, a regular doubles player, and Bill Howard, a letter-winner. In 1956, the Middies compiled a record of 11 wins and 2 losses. Hendrix said at the beginning of th» 1957 season, “We figure to be at the same strength as last year, but our schedule will be a little tougher due to the addition of Williams and Colgate.” Griffiths, 6'4” 205 pounds, will be the number one man for the Middies. Last year he downed Lion Captain Chuck Christiansen, 6-2. 2-6, 8-6. Against the Red Raiders of Col gate, both Griffiths and Goggins, lost their singles play matches. There are 16 fraternity leagues, each composed of three teams, and two independent leagues, each made up of five teams. Soccer is a round-robin type of tournament with a play-off of league winners for the cham pionship. Each team is guaran teed of playing at least two games. All games are played at 6:15 on New Beaver Field. The play-off between league champs for the tourney tilt will begin May 15.
