Bernard, professor of sociology, is one of the chief contributors to a book, “Tensions and Conflicts,” published by the United Nations Educational, Sci entific and Cultural Organization. Discussions at the Second World Congress of Sociology held in Liege, Belgium, in 1953 were the idea for the book. The frame work of these discussions was a working paper on current re search in the sociology of con flict presented by Dr. Bernard. The international Sociological Association was invited by UN ESCO to prepare a comprehen sive critical survey of current research, both sociological and psychological, on inter-group con flict. The new book is a result of this effort. BELL AIRCRAFT CORPORATION, P. O. BOX I, BUFFALO S, N. Y.
