A Spring Week committee will be appointed at the meeting. Traffic Court Fines Eleven A total of $64 in fines were levied on 11 students at a meet ing of Traffic Court Monday night. Fine 3 for parking violations amounted to $3O. Other fines were $4 for failing to report to the Campus Patrol office within the next complete school day and $3O for not regis tering vehicles. Automatic fines amounting to $l6 were imposed on three stu- 1 dents, who failed to appeal their cases. Two violators were dis missed. and fines totalling $lB were suspended - unless another violation is incurred. With all this spraying about to start, Trainer said, students and faculty should know a few things. First, he said, is the problem of automobiles. He warned that if some of the oil-emulsion type liquid gets on an automobile, it should not be wiped off right away, but should be allowed to dry first. It can then be dusted' off. If wiped off immediately it will smear and maybe mar the polish. Liquid Not Dangerous Secondly, he said, the liquid is not dangerous, and will not dam age skin or clothing. Other immediate projects of the division include the seeding of bare spots on campus lawns and continuation of the removal of shrubbery from proposed build ing sites. After sweetening the soil with 230 tons of agricultural ground limestone, Trainer said, all is in readiness for seeding, except the weather. Seeding will begin as soon as the temperature is right. He said that landscaping of the home management houses and of the Health Center will be com pleted this spring. ATA Will Install Officers Tonight New officers of Alpha Tau Al pha, professional honorary agri cultural education fraternity, will be installed at a special meeting at 7:30 tonight in 102 Agricul tural Education. The newly-elected officers are David Jaquish, president; Clair McCracken, vice president; Adam ICrist, 'treasurer; Clarence John son, reporter; Melvin Rosier, ser geant-at-arms. OLLEGIAN STATE COLLEGE PE THE DAILY C Officer Injured By 3 Youths After Chase A State College patrolman was hit in the face with a brick Mon day night when he tried to arrest three unidentified men for speed ing. After chasing the car which was doing up to 80 miles per hour. patrolman G. Palmer Hommel halted the speeders on S. Ather ton St., near the borough line, and the three leaped from the car. One shouted, "Let him have it, Pinky," and another threw the brick. State police are searching for the three, who were described by Hommel as being young, and for the car, a dark Hudson sedan. When the car sped from the scene, Hommel fired a shot, hit ting the trunk. He called on the radio for help, and another offi cer and a fireman arrived and took him to a doctor. Hommel was x-rayed yester day and found in good condition. He has, however, what the police secretary described as "a nice shiner." The plan will be presented to independent women at a meeting Monday night. Seventy-three independents, who indicated interest in Leonides through a questionnaire several weeks ago, will be invited to the meeting. Rosetta Kearney. president. said that other inde pendent women are also welcome. The proposed point-plan bas been originated, according to Miss Today is the final day that independent coeds can file ap plication for a Leonides position in the office of the dean of women. Positions . are open by self nomination for president. vice president. corresponding secre tary and recording secretary. Nominees for president and vice president must have had ex perience as a Leonides repre sentative. Kearney, to draw more indepen dents into active participation in Leonides.
