Work in 3 Halls
This wiring is now half-finished
in the three halls. Electricians
will begin working on the rest of
West Halls before the end of the
semester.
Th2re will be one telephone for
each four rooms when the system
is installed- These phones will be
placed at intervals in the hall
ways.
Each room will be on a separate
extension, and a bell placed in
each room will signal the occu
pants when their number is being
dialed.
Special Directory
Diehl emphasized that the ex
tension numbers will not be de
termined by the room numbers.
A special directory will be
placed at each telephone, listing
the room numbers and the corres
ponding extension numbers.
The new system for West Halls
will mean that calls may be
placed to telephones there by
dialing from any telephone on
campus. It will also mean that
long-distance calls mav be re
ceived or placed at any * time dur
ing the day or night. This has not
been possible in the past.
