PAGE EIGHT Dress Rule Favored By West Halls 13-2 West Halls Council last night voted 13-2 in favor of a dining dress rule similar to the one declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court last week. The council had previous! However, one membef changi that the ruling would prevent West Halls men from removing their coats while eating. Discussion followed the vote on whether an amendment allowing men to do so should be added to the dress rule as formerly'pro posed. David Faust, council secretary, suggested that the rule, if passed as proposed, would set' a stand ard for future West Halls resi dents, and in the future would not be questioned. Paul Reber, senior in horticul ture from Towanda', was appoint ed chairman of the Christmas decorating contest committee re placing Thalimer, who resigned. Council will award prizes of $l5, $lO, and $5 for best decor ated residence hall units. Units will be judged by a committee of students and faculty members 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec.' 17. NSA discussion has appeared again this fall as Cabinet is con sidering a proposal to join the organization again. Norman Miller, acting chair man of the Board of Publica tions, in a Daily Collegian edi torial. said "The ideas brought back to the University delegates to the national convention ware never adequately disseminated to the student body. This fact is demonstrated by the almost to tal unconcern with NSA and un awareness of its existence on the part of the majority of the student body. Miller also said that NSA has been connected in the past with mahy radical viewpoints. During a Cabinet discussion on NSA Robert Bahrenburg, jun ior class president, said that stu dents should know about things away from the University and will find out about them through NSA. Several other Cabinet members came out in favor of NSA at that time They all expressed ideas about what NSA could do for the University and what it could do for NSA. • Ray Earabee, a vice president of NSA,' while visiting the Uni verSiy this fall, told Cabinet mem bers that 'NSA- has no. lobbying power. • FILTER 2 'Seconds'— (Continued from page six) middleweight champion of the world in 1935, the year Eddie was born.
