STATE COLLEGE. PENNSYLVANIA Officials Say Ice Show Unfeasible Wilmer E. Kenworthy, director of student affairs, said yesterday that he and Ernest 13. McCoy, dean of the College of Physical Education and Athletics, have agreed that it is not feasible to have an•amateur ice show. The idea for an ice show was originally presented by Town In dependent Men, who had organ ized the shiny . into sections. 'Cold Makes It Difficult' McCoy said it is very difficult to have an audience seated in the cold for the length of time an ice show takes. He also said the rink does not have the proper seating facilities. McCoy said practice sessions would be hard to schedule be cause the rink is open to the pub lic most of the possible hours it can 6e used. He said that profits would be• very dubious for an amateur shoW. Other Ideas Being Planned Robert Cole, president of TIM, said the group is working on al ternative ideas to take the place of an ice show. TIM originally planned a full scale amateur ice show, with cos tumes, lighting, and a large cast. Students would take cast parts, work on choreography, lighting publicity, costumes, and make-up. Approximately 30 students have signed up for skating parts alone since TIM first announced its in tentions. .Approved sraterniliea Fifty-four fraternities have been approved by the dean of men's office to entertain women tonight and tomorrow night. PENN STATE DINER Engage ONE Brand...ONE Grade...ONLY Th• finitst you can buy! I'm HOSTAGE at PITT! It all happened when I volunteered to help guard the Lion against' the vandals from the Inverted Mine Shaft! Fraternity men were up there huddled around the Lion 'cause 'twas really cold. There I was with my head curled up in my shell trying to keep warm and still protect the Lion from the dreaded paint can. Then ALL OF A SUDDEN from out of the brush came the thundering pawbeats of the Panther followed by uni dentified species wearing black and gold sweaters. The battle was on . . . we grappled over to the Rec Hall steps, careened down toward McKee and finally over to the ten nis courts. I would have emerged victorious except for my lack of speed and thus I wound up being used as a tennis ball while the Panther made like a Davis Cup contender. In my exhausted state (I really didn't know whether I was in the state of Pennsylvania, state of confusion, state legislature, state store or even the state of being alive) they abducted me and the long treck over vast wastelands to the Smoky City began. So here I am held hostage by these hideous Pitt crea tures in the dungeon of their local bar and they won't even give me a drink. For all these reasons I hope that we really trounce Pitt this weekend. I'll be thinking about all of you fortunate souls back there and especially all my friends who I met at the Finer Diner. My only regret at this point is that I can't be at the PENN STATE DINER to talk over all the exciting events that are sure to take place this weekend. But I'll be back soon so I'll be sure to see you at the Finer Diner. All your friends will be there so come on in and join the rest of the gang . . . and we will conjure up revenge for my mistreatment by Pitt.
