PAGE EIGHT FMA Votes To Restrict Salesmen The Fraternity Marketing As sociation has voted to put a stipu lation in future contracts with vendors, forbidding vendors who deal with non-FMA member fra ternities the same discount as FMA members. The FMA board met Monday night but lack of a quorum de layed the decision from being of ficial until yesterday, •when one concurring vote from an absentee member was received. _ Harold W. Perkins, assistant dean of men, cited the problem of vendors who give 5 per cent discounts to non-FMA members and 6 per cent to FMA. After the 1 1 h per cent service charge is sub tracted Perkins said, the non members receive a larger discount than FMA members. FMA acts as a buying agent for member fraternities, securing dis counts on canned goods and meat through mass buying. Perkins also told the meeting that FMA must have 40 members before it can realize its goal of greater savings to fraternities. With 40 members, he said, a part time manager could be employed to run FMA. Thus better service could be obtained.
