Under the new code, a commit tee composed of three faculty members and two students, ap pointed by the dean of the col lege, will be established in each college to hear cases. Committee Is Court The student-faculty committees, to be known as College Commit tee on Academic Honesty, will act as the disciplinary court for all first offenses of unpremedi tated and premeditated cheating. But first offenses of cooperative, premeditated cheating, involving collusion will continue to go di rectly to the Senate subcommit tee on discipline. One of the student members on the College Committee on Aca demic Honesty will be a third se mester sophomore and the other will be a fifth semester junior enrolled in the college. The stu dent members will continue to serve until graduation. Vacancies will be filled by appointment of third semester students. Committee Chairman The chairman of the committee will be the college’s representative on the Senate subcommittee on discipline. In addition, another group, to be known as the Intercollege Committee on Academic Honesty, will meet to discuss uniformity of penalty, but not to make policy. The committee will be composed of one representative from each College Committee on Academic Honesty. The Senate subcommittee on discipline will still remain the final appeal body for all decisions. The subcommittee is composed of four administration members, and three students. The dean of men or women, the dean of the stu dent’s college, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Student Affairs and the director of stu dent affairs, are the committee’s administration members and the All-University president or Wo men’s .
