Students participating . are: , Maude Baker, Marilyn Black, Isabelle Capuano, Nancy Carver, Phoebe English, Paula Frailey, Lana Ger hardt, Joan Herbst, Alberta Hoffman, Helen Kunkel, Betty Love, Connie Paulakos, Alice Petersen, Sandra Pogesky, Anne Robertson, Katherine Sauer, Ruth Schnell, Bernadette Sheehan, and Joann Wohleber Has Three Themes The concert is divided into three main themes. The first por tion, "The Long Journey , of Man," starts with the beginning of the universe and characterises man through various phases which saf-, fect his life, such as. fainily, poW er, adventure, industry, happiness. and brotherhood. The second section of the pro gram is an interpretation of A. A. Milne's "Winnie-The-Pooh." Char acters of the story are introduced and they depict then the tale "Ti gers Don't Climb Trees." Centennial Commemorated The last portion, consisting of three group numbers, commemo rates three events that mark the University's Centennial celebra tion. These are the opening 'of the Nuclear Reactor, opening of the Hetzel Union Building, and the ground-breaking for the AU-Faith Chapel. Admission to the concert is free. Tickets may be obtained at IL; main office in White Hall or from any member of the Concert Group. The program is under the di rection of Dorothy Briant, assis tant professor of physical educa tion, and Hermance Reese, accom panist. Leonides, AIM Plan Banquet The annual banquet for mem bers of Leonides and the Associa tion of Independent Men will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Hetzel Union Building. Informal histories of AIM and •Leonides will be given by the ad visers, Edith G. Zinn, assistant to the dean of women, and Ross B. Lehman, assistant executive sec retary of the Alumni Association. Banquet chairmen are Mar t h a Hardy and Henry Simm. Plans for a square dance, spon sored by AIM, Leonides, and West Hall Council, were announced at the Leonides meeting last night. The dance will be held from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday night on the HUB terrace with Ross Lytle call ing. Admission is free and the dance is open to the public. McMahon Elected Head Of WRA Swim Club Jean McMahon, fourth semes ter physical education major, was elected president of the Women's Recreation Association Swim Club at the club's final meeting. Judith Tame, fourth semester technology major, was elected vice president, and Daisy Zimmerman, fourth semester education major, secretary. College Opp. Ath Hall No Action Taken On Library Hours No action has been taken on the All-University Cabinet recom mendation that Pattee Library remain open until 11 p.m. week nights during the final examin ation period, Ralph W. McComb, University librarian, stated Thurs day. The recommendation was made to Cabinet by Watson Leese, Lib eral Arts Student Council presi dent. Leese reported McComb had termed the plan feasible, but at the same time had reported that the library could not be open un til 11 p.m. on Saturday evenings because of financial reasons. Earl Seely, All-University pres ident, talked with McComb after the Cabinet meeting. PENNSYLVANIA Players Show Is Scheduled For Weekend "The Philadelphia Story," Phil ip Barry's comedy of life among Philadelphia's Main Liners, will be presemed by Penn State Play ers as one of the Mother's Day weekend highlights. The first per formance is scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday in Schwab Auditorium. The play will have a three-night run. Thursday night's house has been sold out to the local Kiwanis or ganization for charitable purposes. Anyone purchasing a ticket for Thursday's performance will be contributing to a charity for un derprivileged children. Betty Rice, seventh semester arts and letters major, will star as Tracy, the play's female lead. Tra cy was played by Katherine Hep burn in the original broadway performance and also in the movie version. The role of Dexter, Tracy's first husband, will be performed by Frederick Hand, with Samuel Kahn starring as George, Tracy's second husband. Clifton Crosbie will play Mike, the newspaper man sent to get "the Philadelphia Story," and Jean McVicker is cast as Liz, the newspaper's photog rapher. Others ti the cast include Shir ley Stern, Nancy E. May, Jeannie Risler, John Aniston, Dominic Landro, and Richard Land. Your charge is invited Spotlighting Tri Sigma Sigma Sigma Sigma first came into existence on April 20, 189 e, at Longwood College, Farmville, Virginia. Despite this early start, the Tri Sigma's did not come to the University campus until April, 1954, thus becoming the youngest chapter now on campus. Mrs. C. 0. Williams is alumnae adviser and Mrs. Nora Grassius Is the sorority's faculty adviser. Last year the Tri Sigma's didn't let the fact of their new arrival on campus stand in their way dur ing Spring Week, for they won the Spring Week trophy with Chi Phi for both show and float. The Robbie Page Foundation is a national project of the Tri Sigma's. The Foundation was begun in 1952 to aid polio re search and was begun in mem ory of Robbie Page, the national president's son, who died of po lio.
