PAGE "EIGHT 'Ugly Man' Entries Due On Monday Entries for the annual Ugly Man contest to be held May 4 to 6 are due at the Hetzel Union desk by 5 p.m. Monday, John Brunner, contest chairman, an nounced yesterday. Each fraternity-sorority group may submit one nominee. The en try must include $l, and a Tues day night time preference for the taking of pictures in ugly man attire. Sponsored by Alpha Phi Ome ga, national service fraternity, the contest will be limited to graduating seniors this year as in the past. The voting will be conducted with a penny-a-vote system at a booth on the Mall. The Ugly Man parade will take place May 3 and will start at 6:15 p.m. Each entrant may have a. maximum of four cars repre sentinghim. Fivejudges will select the win ner from a list of seven finalists who have compiled the most votes. • According to Brunner, the jud ges will base their scoring on the amount of effort the candidates put into their, campaigning. The committee has suggested that the candidates work up a skit or oth er means of publicity that will be presented during the voting period. This year, $lOO. from the fund will be set aside for Christmas baskets and other relief projects of Alpha Phi Omega. After ex penses are subtracted from the proceeds, the remainder will go to Campus Chest. Last year Donald Malinak, sponsored by Lambda Chi Alpha and Alpha Chi Omega, won the contest. STATE CCXtEGE Office Penalty Recommended For Student Office probation has been recommended for a second semes ter student who was caught tak ing a bottle of whiskey into Mc- Kee Hall. The Association of In dependent Men Judicial Board of Review heard the case Monday night. The student told the board he was drinking beer at a fraternity house and agreed to hold the bot tle of whiskey for one of his friends who was going to stay overnight at the fraternity. A resident counselor saw the student walking through McKee Hall with the whiskey. The coun selor said the student did not attempt to conceal the whiskey. Office probation carries with it specified , consultations with the dean of men. The board also recommended that a letter be sent to the student's parents. Four other students accused of pilfering another student's room in March were given disciplinary probation by the dean of men, it was reported. The probation states that a student may not take part in any extra-curr]\cular activities.
