Forty fraternities, 21 sororities, and 11 independent groups are entering Spring Week under the four categories specified by the Spring Week Committee. The four categories are Farmer's High School, Agricultural College, Penn • State College, and Penn State University. These di visions apply to the Spring Week parade and carnival only. University To Ininrove Power Plant The General State Authority in Harrisburg yesterday received bids for the completion tof the final phase of the expansion and improvement of the/ steam gen eration and electrical distribution systems at the I.lhiVersity. The project will include the construction of a new three-story shop area inside the present Pow er Plant and new walk-ways, plat forms, 'stairs, handrails, and other installations. Construction of a new drive Way from the PoWet Plant to College avenue also is iocluded in the project. A new boiler for the Nittany Dorms area is planned and chan ges will be made it the stack of this plant. Some underground steam' lines in the area also' will be replaced with larger lines. Normal use of -the utilities will be maintained during construc tion, according to UniverSity of ficials: Mid-April, 1988, is the , scheduled completion date. Chapel Sets Palm Sunday Music Service The annual Len t en Musical Service of the University Chapel will be held at 10:55 a.m. Sunday in Schwab Auditorium. The Pergolesi "Stabat Mater" will be sung by the Womeh's Chorus under - the direction of Raymond H. Brown, assistant pro fessor of music. Fifty members of the Chapel choir will sing the In troit and musical responses for the service. Brown, a native of North Caro lina, was graduated from the I:43a body Conservatory of Music, Bal timore, Md. Before coming' to the University in 1954, he was a tele vision and radio instructor for cc.certs and Solo performances. George E. Pugh St. Air Seniors Take Over For Officers Senior cadets in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps are participating this week in a special training program. They are observing the duties and functions of several of the senior officers in the department. Each senior cadet will spend at least two hours this week not only watching the officers do their routine work but also taking over the lobs themselves. The • cadets sit behind the of fibers' desks for past of their two hour periods making any deci sions and recommendations that ordinarily are made by the offif cers. The program, which is being scheduled for the first time at the University, is designed to better acquaint the cadets with the offi cers' jobs. Familiarization with typical Air Force administrative proce dures and regulations will aid students in practicing general staff ' duties when they receive their commissions, Capt. Howard F. O'Neal said. Department officers participat ing in the program include Col. Daniel F. Riva, professor of air science; Lt. Col. G. L. Buhrman, assistant professor of air science; Maj. Robert A.
