The Hawkeyes continued their scoriiig rampage after the inter mission. With Cain and Davis leading the way, they battered the Lions from all angles. Only Hoffman, finding the range from outside the lowa man-for-man screen, was able to score with any consistency for the LJons. Hoffman scored eight points j during the opening ten minutes T but, lowa poured it on and built the lead to 49-31 with only four ‘minutes, gone in the second half. Davis, Gain, and center Bill Lo gan did most of the damage and the lowans moved out in front by 20 points, 67-37, at the mid point of the half. lowa by this point was running away with little difficulty. They continued the pace through the rest of the game. Both coaches allowed their substitutes to finish and the Lions were never within a long reach of contention for the rest of the way. lowa finished going away, 82-53. lowa’s top scorers were Cain, Davis and Seaburg. Root's shoulders were flush with the mat at 4:13. Arnelle Named to AP All-State Basketball Team Penn State center Jesse Arnelle has been named to the Associated Press’ 1955 All-State basketball team. Arnelle was named to the team with Duquesne’s Dick Rick ets and Si Green, LaSalle’s Tom Gola, and Maurice Stokes of St. Francis.
