PAGE EIGHT IFC OK's New Code For Rushing Interfraternity Council last night unanimously approved a re vised rushing code which will take effect immediately. The four major revisions in the new code are: 1. Rushees may live in frater nity houses only during Orienta tion Week except in cases to be determined by the IFC Board of Control. The exception was not originally included in the revis ions, but was adde, so that upper classmen eligible to be pledged who did not have a housing con tract with the University could live in a fraternity house until the official pledging date. Under the old code a ,raternity could invite an upperclassman to live in the house under conditions stipulated by 'dr • house. There was no limit set on the time a man could live in the house. ^. If a house fails to appear be fore the Board of Control when it is called. it is considered a plea of guilty and the house forfeits its right to appeal. 3. In order for the board to re consider a case, a house must pre sent a petition signed by 51 per cent of the member houses of IFC. A further may also be made on the floor 7 IFC after the board reconsiders the case. A dccision may be reversed by a % vote. Under the old codt' houses appealed , :irectly to IFC. 4. The setting of a time limit of two week s for receiving the pledge slips ai.d 12 fee which a house must submit to IFC for each pledge. No pledge can be recog nized until this fee has been re ceived.
