He then became pastor of the Atonement Methodist Church, Wilmington, Del., and after serv ing as a chaplain with the Navy, was named pastor of Wesley Methodist Church, Washington, D.C. He became pastor of • the Methodist Church at Virginia Beach July 1. In Washington, the Reverend Lowell served as president of the Chevy Chase Ministers' Council and as , a member of the board .of the Washington Federation of Churches and chairman of its Commission in Public Services. He served the Peninsular Confer ence of the church as a member of the Commission on World Serv ices and Finance and the Balti more Conference as a member of the Commission on Evangelism. Clothing Drive Hits 60 Pounds Approximately 60 pounds of clothing have been turned over to the State College Society of Friends for distribution to needy countries, Alletta Manbeck, chair man of the Women's Student Gov ernment Association House of Representatives clothing drive, an nounced yesterday. Miss Manbeck said the clothing was collected 'at the half way point of the drive. The drive will continue until tomorrow. Boxes in which the clothing may be placed have been put in all units of the women's dormi tories and at the University Co operative. The clothes will be distributed by the Society of Friends to .needy countries throughout the world in stead of to only one country as has been done in the past. Library Receives Anonymous Gift Three long playing record al bums have been presented anony mously through the Penn State Foundation to the record collec tion of the Fred Lewis Pattee Library in memory of the late David D. Mason, a 1917 graduate of the University and associate professor of French until 1942. The Albums contain records of Gilbert and. Sullivan's "lolanthe," "Ruddigore," and "Yeoman of the Guard." Hillel Town. Meeting Series Will Continue The fourth in a current series of Hillel Town Meetings will be held at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the Hillel Foundation Auditorium. By NANCY SHOWALTER aby Sitting To Be Started zy Sorority A program designed to allevi ate the baby sitting problem of veteran, graduate, and undergrad uate student-families has been adopted as a project by 23 Kappa Delta pledges. The pledges will baby sit for these families free of charge for the next two weeks. The baby sitting service will be available from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Dec. 6th to 9th, and 13th to 16th, with the exceptiqn of Wednesday eve ninc Dec. 8 after 5 p.m. Wives of the veterans may call for the service at the Kappa Delta suite, 30 McElwain, between 12 and 1 p.m. and 6 and 7 p.m. The pledges will baby sit hi the immediate State College- area. Ifthe pledges are desired for any long period of time, they will wor k in shifts. Transportation must be provided to take care of the shift. The times scheduled for the service must be specific be cause of the class schedules of the pledges.
