For Cattle Judging
John Harris, sixth semester agriculture education major, was the
winner of the advanced division of the 29th annual dairy cattle judg
ing contest Saturday and Alice Brambley, fourth semester pre-vet
inary major, took top honors in the amateur division.
Harris, last year's amateur division winner, amassed an overall

Penn State's "Mr. Formal" con
test, now underway, will offer a
summer formal outfit, cigarette
lighter, formal jewelry set, and a
white briar pipe as prizes to the
campus winner. Similar contests
are being held at 100 colleges and
Universities.
Applications for the contest will
be accepted from groups partici
pating in Spring Carnival. Con
testants must be photographed in
an After Six dinner jacket.
Five finalists will be chosen by
borough merchants Jack Harper,
Joseph Hur, and Arnold Kahn.
"Mr. Formal" will be chosen from
finalists by student vote,
Management Club
To Elect Officers
The Penn State Management
Association will elect officers at
7:30 p.m. tomorrow in 219 Electri
cal. Enginering.
This will be the association's
first formal meeting since its or
ganization. The purpose of the
club is to further the aims of busi
ness and industrial management
perponnel, and to aid students ma
joring in management areas in
making contacts with business
people.
Students interested in learning
more about the organization may
attend. All students are eligible
foe membership.

Ayrshire judging in gaining his
point total.
As winner of the advanced divi
sion Harris will have his name in-,
scribed on the Paul Gulden tro
phy and will receive a cash prize.
Second place in the advanced
division .went to William Hoover,
fourth semester dairy husbandry
major, with a total of 607 points.
Harry Doutt, sixth semester dairy
husbandry major, took third place
with 603 points. Both will receive
cash prizes.
• Scores 456 'Points
In winning the amateur division
of the contest Miss Brambley
scored 456 points out of a possible
500. She will have her name in
scribed on the trophy donated by
Alpha Zeta, Alpha Gamma Rho,
and Delta Theta Sigma.
. Harold Melchior, sixth semester
pre-veterinary major, placed sec
ond in the amateur division. Fran
cis Liscko was third.
The winners of the individual
breed judgings in the advanced
division were Harry Doutt, sixth
semester dairy husbandry major,
Holstein; Jacob Guffey, sixth se

Guernsey; Steve Spencer, eighth
semester dairy husbandry major,

John Yeager, fourth semester ag

Journ Citations
'Five eighth semester students
in the School of Journalism were
awarded special citations Sunday
night at a journalism mixer at
Tau Kappa Epsilon.
David Jones, retiring editor of
the Daily Collegian, was present
ed a citation for being the out
standing student in journalism.
Awards for scholarship were
presented to_ five students who
rank in the upper five per cent
of their class. . They are Laura
Wheeler, Joseph Cooper, Jones,
Charles Mathias, and Donald
Lambert.
The awards were presented by
Franklin Banner, head of th e
journalism department, on behalf
of Sigma Delta Chi, men's nation
al journalistic fraternity an d
Theta Sigma Phi, women's na
tional journalism fraternity.

Theater Presents
Czerwinski Play
"A World of Strangers," a one
act play by Edward Czerwinshki,
graduate student in- English, will
be presented at 5 p.m. today in
the Little Theater in the base
ment of Old Main.
The original play, directed by
Patricia Layman, eighth semester
arts and letters major, is given
by the Five O'clock Theater, the
experimental theater of division
of dramatics. Admission is free.
