FRIDAY, APR tt:3o,- 1954 Pouthott '.-Lederman Get WSGA Posts Patricia Douthett, fourth .semester home economics major, was appointed chairman of Freshman Regulations Board, which carries a seat - ,on Judicial, and Ann Lederman, fourth semester journalism major; was appointed co-chairman of Joint Customs Board by the Woman's Student Government- Association Senate Wednesday night. Nominations were made to fill the three seats on Joint Customs Board and the position of WSGA parliamentarian. The names will be voted on Wednesday. New Frosh Hours First and second semester fresh man women will have an 11 o'clock. arid a one o'clock on week ends starting September 1954, as a result of a unanimous vote at the meeting. Freshman women now have a ten o'clock and a one o'clock on weekends. A plan to give second semester freshman women two special 11 o'clocks was presented by Joyce Shusman, retiring chairman of Freshman Regulations Board. The 11 o'clocks would be granted to those who had made a certain scholastic average during their first semester. The average has not yet been determined. To Go to' Frosh Council - The plan will go as a recom mendation .from WSGA to Fresh man Council. If passed here it will 'be voted on by Freshman Regulations Board and WSGA. It must also have; the approval of Dean of Women Pearl 0. Weston. Another move- toward more lenient regulations for freshman women brought up was the re striction' of dating for first semes ter freshmen after 5:30 on week days. This proposal has been passed by Freshman Regulations Board, but must - go to Freshman Council' for vote. It will be re voted on by Freshman Regulations Board. PENNSYLVANIA Rush Plan Submitted To Panhel The sorority rushing schedule for next fall was submitted to the Panhellenic Council for discussion Tuesday night and not approved by the council as was erroneously reported in the Daily Collegian Wednesday It was recommended at the meeting that the evening coke date period be extended to last from 6:30 to 8 p.m. instead of 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. as in previous years. The recommendation was made to permit two 45-minute coke date periods instead of one full-hour session. This would allow sorori ties time to meet more rushees and permit rushees to visit, more sororities, if they are unable to attend afternoon coke dates. Registration Sept. 17 and 18 Registration for fall rushing will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Fri day, Sept. 17, as a convenience for those women planning to re turn home for the weekend, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, for all rushees, accord ing to the pi-oposed schedule. Coeds may drop out of rushing at any time during the.prescribed activities, but may not sign up after the scheduled registration. May Change Open House Open houses, during which rushees visit those sororities in which they are interested, may be changed from Saturday and Sunday as previously held, .to Friday and Saturday, •Sept. 17 and 18. This change was proposed to give rushees a breathing spell and an evaluation peri o d, to give sororities more time -to compile coke date invitations, and to re lieve the Panhel post office. The schedule, worked - out by Mary E. Brewer, assistant to the dean of women, and Norma Reck, Panhel rush chairman, will be voted upon at the May 18 meet ing of the council. Officers to Be Installed Tomdrrow at PSCA Dinner Inauguration of officers will be held at the annual Penn State Christia n Association dinner 5:30 p.m. tomorrow at Mattern ville School. Religion Church Groups Bible Conclave, A Bible conference and several socials have been scheduled for the student church groups tonight. The Penn State - Bible Fellowship 'will hear a talk by David Ade ney, missionary to China, at 7:30 tonight in 405 Old Main. After the meeting the group will leave for Camp Hate-To-Leave-It near Lamar for a weekend Bible conference. • Another group will go to the camp at noon tomorrow. The theme of the conference' is "The Christian Witness in the World Today." Adeney will be guest speaker for meetings and group discussions.
