PAGE: EIGHT Fire Destroys Farm Areas A warning was issued yesterday asking students to be careful 'of fires while on the University farms. Maurice K. Goddard, head of the Department of Forestry, made the request after a fire, apparently caused by a careless smoker, burned two acres of experimental growth. He said the brush is ex tremely dry at the present time and a little carelessness could cause severe damage. The fire yesterday apparently was started accidentally by a lighted match or cigarette, God dard said, and was extinguished by students studying nearby. • Goddard said a car was seen leaving the fire as it started. and Campus Patrol Capt. Philip A. Mark and fire officials are inves tigating. The big danger, he said, is the loss of unreplaceable controlled experiment plots. 22 to Study Advertising On ADS Pittsburgh Tour Twenty-two students have signed up for the spring advertis ing field trip to Pittsburgh April 21-23.
