PAGE EIGHT Changes Approved In AIM Constitution Three of four proposed amendments to the Association of Inde pendent Men's constitution were approved on second reading by the AIM Board of Governors Wednesday night. The fourth amend nent, dealing with reorganization of the AIM Judicial Board was referred back to the reorganization committee for rewording. The first amendment, which Will establish compensation for AIM officers, was approved with out change. The amendment pro vides $lOO annual compensation for the AIM president, $5O for the secretary and treasurer, and $25 for the vice president. If the amendment is finally passed by the Board of Governors and ap proved by three-fourths of the dormitory area councils, compen sation will go into effect next fall. The second amendment ap proved for the second time, deals with reorganizing the Executive Board of AIM. If the amendment is passed, the board will consist of the executive officers of AIM, and the presidents of the living areas represented on the Board of Governors—West Dorms, Nittany, Pollock,, and town. This amendment would replace article C-i of the present consti tution, which provides that the executive board be composed of executive officers of AIM, editor of the Independent Newsletter and chairmen of the athletic, so cial, and project committees. The third approved amendment provides for the establishment of fiv e standing committees—Na tional Independent Student's As sociation, publicity, social, pro jects, and elections. The fourth proposed amend ment, which would revamp the AIM Judicial Board, provides that all eight members of the board be appointed in the spring as l members-at-large. The chairman of the board will also be appoint ed in the spring. All members of the board, including the chair man would be appointed by the AIM president. The amendment also provides that the chairman of the board be a fifth or sixth semester student at, the time of his appointment. He said he felt it would save time and dis cussion on the floor of the Board of Governors if the proposals were reworded before it was presented for a second reading. He said rewording was needed to fit the amendment into the existing 'constitution. He did not elaborate, however, saying that he would need time to give the matter further study. The first three amendments will be voted on by the Board of Gov ernors on April 21. To be passed, the amendments must • be ap pro v e d by a majority. If the amendments are passed by the board,• they will be submitted to the four councils for approval. If they are approved by the coun cils, they will be written into the constitution. The fourth proposed amend ment will also be presented for a second reading and discussion April 21. Deni son is excellent as he sings "Mow ing the . Barley," an old English ballad, while a dance illustrating the theme of the song is done in the background. Surprisingly enough, dancing ••••• ••••• • •••• was one of the show's principal attributes. Usually, when we see a dance about , to begin, we be come apprehensive and wonder how sloppy it's going to be, but with "Pick Up Sticks" our fears were all in vain. The first num ber, "The Poison Goblet," was well-received by the audience, and the standard set by it was maintained by each succeeding dance. The culminating point of the dances was "Bahia," an Afro- Cuban number. Probably the greatest amount of applause should be directed toward director Robert D. Reif sneider who did the choreog raphy, but it would-be impossible to forget individual fine work as that of Kenneth Thomas, who was at his height in "The Simple Pleasures," a dance depicting the amusements of a small boy.
