PAGe P'GHT New Minimum For Pre-Vets Is Two Yecsrs The new pre-veterinary curric ulum approved. Thursday by the University Senate will permit stu lents to complete the minimum requirements for admission to vet erinary schools after two years of study, Alfred L. Bortree, head of the Department of Veterinary Science, said yesterday. Bortree said that although stu dents are encouraged to spend three years of pre-veterinary study to gain a broader agricultural background, it is believed that the University should make it possi ble for the student who is other wise qualified to meet veterinary school requirements in two years. Another feature of the new cur riculum, Bortree explained, is that students will have a broader choice of electives among courses not specifically required for' ad mission to veterinary school. More even distribution of courses in livestock and poultry will also be possible, he said. The new curriculum will go in to effect during the fall semester. About 75 students are enrolled in the pre-veterinary curriculum. WD Council Sets Social Calendar The West Dorm social calendar for the spring semester has been released by the West Dorm Coun cil.
