PENNSYLVANI Students Learn Cuifinary Arts In Nutrition 20 Food Nutrition 20, a cooking course designed primarily for non home ec majors, is now in full swing. The only prerequisite is that the student wear a ring or pin. If some unsuspecting soul should happen to wander into the cooking room at the Home Ec ' building on Tuesday afternoon when the students and prof are in action, he would he blinded by the gleam from the diamonds. There are a few, minus the rings though, who at least wear pins for compensation. The course begins with teach ing the women how to prepare breakfast. It works up to lunches and finally dinners. The' only hitch is that class members have to eat- the meals they prepare. For the past four Tuesdays, wo men ha v e been eating orange slices, toast and poached eggs, oatmeal and coffee for dinner. This menu takes the average stu dent from an hour and a half to two hours to prepare. Of course, it isn't fair to com pare this time with the time it takes Mother. After all there is the element of experience. Who knows how well these same "cooks" will be -doing in Decem ber? When the husbands of these women someday compliment them on the delicious meal, they will be able to look back with appre ciation on the days at the Col lege spent in 108 Home Ec. This is the second birthday of our column. The reason for the title "OK Joe" is long and sundry. Besides, the reason gets better every year. However, the general idea was to select from our sittings, one girl who not only possessed fine fea tures, but, whose manner, air and charm were equally capti vating. (True, we err now and then, but There have been complaints in previous semesters that we featured too many beauties that belonged to one sorority in particular. A sheer coincidence, fortunately and Chats all. Aside from the above mentioned the basic qualifications to make this column is that the coed be admittedly a female. Sorority affiliations have no bearing. Being fortunate enough to secure the use of our local Western Union window for display, we didn't feel the need to run this column again. However, since so many have asked for it (mainly, ad writers for this journal) we'll try it again. About now is the best time to reserve openings for your fraternity or sorority composite. We'll soon have openings and positively this is the best time to reserve an opening for a Christmas portrait. Since we only take a limited number of sittings a day, openings fill up quickly.
