1000 Students Cheer
Lions at Pep Rally
About 1000 students gathered in front of Old Main last night to
participate in the pre-Boston University football game pep rally.
Emcees of the rally, sponsored by Blue Key, junior men's hat
society, were Charles Obertance and Marshall Donley, seventh
semester journalism majors.
Obertance and Donley presented
a skit, a take-off on Dragnet, with
appropriate theme music by the
Penn State Blue Band. The band
and cheerleaders led the group,
mostly freshmen, in songs and
cheers.
Football players Roosevelt
Grier and James Garrity were in
troduced by the masters of cere
monies. They expressed hopes of
a change in the final results of
the Boston game as compared
with scores of the last two Sat
urdays, and said they expected
the team to show improvement
at Boston.
The arrival of the Blue Band,
preceded by the cavorting Frothy,
got the rally off to a rousing start
promptly at 7:30.
The cheerleading squad, led by
head clleerleader Bruce Wagner,
led the group in several cheers
and school songs.
The team will leave for Harris

fly from Harrisburg to Boston,
and return by air immediately
following the game Saturday
