Vet School
Bill 'lnadequate'
"One million dollars is not
enough to set up a School of
Veterinary Medicine," Dean
Lyman E. Jackson of the School
of Agriculture said last week.
A bill appropriating $1 mil
lion for the establishment of a
vet school at the College was
introduced to the state legisla
ture earliei this week. Jackson
has pointed out that between
$6 and $7 million would be
needed for a veterinary school.
The joint state government
committee of th e legislature
has reported that the establish
ment of another veterinary
school at this time would be
impractical. A similar school
exists at the University of
Pennsylvania.
