PAGE EIGHT Activities Annou heed For Greek Week Richard Gibbs, fraternity chairman of Greek Week, to be held April 11 to 19, reported a schedule of events for the week to Inter fraternity Council Wednesday night. The first day of the week, according to the report, is Saturday, April 11, and will be designated Greek-Community Day. A number of work projects, still in the planning stage, and a community supper have been scheduled for the day. In addition to. church activities Sunday, a concert by the. Blue Band has been planned for the afternoon in Schwab Auditorium. Sunday night the annual IPC- Panhellenic Council Sing finals will be held in the State College High School auditorium. Prelim inaries will be held the preceding week. Exchange Dinners Planned The annual IFC-Panhel Banquet will be held Monday." A Commu nity Benefit Review is scheduled for Tuesday evening, with' fra ternity, sorority, and townspeople participating. Wednesday night has been set aside as Meet-Your-N eigh b o r night, with fraternity-sorority ex change dinners planned in the early evening and* open house for townspeople and sororities after dinner. Warner to Be Dinner Speqker . Dr. John Christian Warner, president of Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh, will de liver the principal speech at the annual Faculty-Trustee Dinner March 27 in the Nittany Lion Inn. The dinner is sponsored by the College chapter of the American Association of University Profes sors. ' . Two . hundred and fifty tickets at $2.75 each are being sold in 103 Engineering A, William .H. Powers, chairman of the dinner committee has announced. School and department representatives are also selling tickets. Dr. Warner, a native of Gosh en, Ind., was an industrial chem ist in several firms before joining the Carnegie faculty. From 1943 to 1945 he was connected with atomic research. In 1952 Presi dent Truman named him for a six-year term as a member of the general advisory committee to the Atomic Energy Commission. Senate Tables (Continued from page one) presented the results of a student poll taken by All-College Presi dent John Laubach which indi cated that students would rather have a Thanksgiving recess than vacation between semesters. This poll also showed that cutting may be excessive if only a one day Thanksgiving recess were, .sched uled by the Senate. An Outstanding Pledge dinner will be held Thursday night at the Allencrest. One pledge from each fraternity will attend the event. The IFC-Panhel Ball, with Johnny Long, will take place Fri day night. To Distribute Booklet Although Greek Week will of ficially end with house parties Saturday night, a Glee Club con cert has been planned for Sunday afternoon. Prior to the opening of Greek Week, a booklet explaining the purposes of the week and describ ing the week’s activities will be printed and distributed. Editor of the booklet is David Jones. Injured Athlete's Condition Is 'Good' The condition of Robert Hoff man, freshman basketball player who was injured Wednesday night, was reported as “quite good” by an Infirmary official yesterday. Hoffman was injured when he collided with Edward Haag, a member of the varsity -basketball squad, during a practice session in Recreation Hall. Hoffman suf fered a blow on the head and cuts about the face. Pollock Council to Meet With Dining Hall Head Members of the Pollock Coun cil will meet at 4 p.m. today in the West dining hall of the Nit tany-Pollock area with Nittany dining hall Food Supervisor Bruce Robertson, council President Jos eph Gardecki announced. Robertson will receive opinions on the progress made in the Pol lock dining hall situation and will accept further suggestions, Gar decki said.
