Iw ; , ,Thursday, and Saturday .., in the modern dance room in White-Han. 'The concert "is .in conjunc tion with the College Combined Arts Festival. No performance is scheduled for Friday. This year's concert, with the theme "And So to the End," will include 18 different numbers. Among these .are eight group num bers,' five solos, two duets, one are free and •can be obtained in the office of White Hall. The concert is under the direc tion of Dorothy Briant, . assistant professor of physical adugation, and her assistants, Alberta Mills, instructor of physical education. Hermance Reese, instructor of physical education, will be the accompanist. The choreography is , by members of the dance group with the assistance of Miss Briant. Dancers are Leona Anderson, Anne Bolduc, Ethel Brady, June Briant, Michaline Claysmith, Alice Colbert, - Diane Delp, Bernadine Fulton, Dorothy Hemphill, Nancy Hopkins, Katherine Lange, Anna Layton, Patricia Leis, Alice Lind say, Margaret Mayberry, Marilyn McComb, Janet Malzer, Katherine Nicoll, Joan- O'Connor, Barbara Sherts, and Joan Wiley. Kurtz Elected LSA President George Kurtz,' graduate student in dairy husbandry, was recently elected president of the Lutheran Student Association. Other, officers: of the executive committee chosen were Mary Al bert and Robert Weaver, vic e presidents; Joan Learn, secretary; Dwight Putman, treasurer; and Eleanor Swartz, alumni secretary. Strawberry Festival Nets $93 for Cwens The Strawberry Festival; spon sored by Cwens, sophomore wom en's activities honorary, raised $93.01 for the benefit of the Dutch war orphan Cwens is- supporting along with 'the Women's Recre ation Association. The festival s. which was held Saturday evening at the Frazier street playground, was open to students in the State College school system as well as the. Col lege. Kenneth Hoy, senior at 'State, College High School, and Kay' Laing, junior at the high school, were crowned Strawberry Festi val king and queen. • • Also featured at the festival was the sale of strawberries and ice cream. The cake, prize for the winner of the novelty cake walk, went to a young grade school boy. Cwens needed $9O to' continue support of its war orphan and thus, undertook the project. Students at the ' State College High School assisted active mem bers of Cviens in the arrange ments. The picnic will be held May 30 at Camp Kanasate. Each church will be responsible for its own transportation and food.
