TAGE'graRT Fine See s ' Two GOP Candidates 'HARRISBURG, April 25—(AP) —Gov. John S: Fine said today the Republican presidential race has -• narrowed down to Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower and Sen. Robert A: Taft of Ohio. :Fine emphasized, however, the returns of. Pennsylvania's presi dential • preference primary on Tuesday have not changed the position of the state's uninstruct ed 70-man delegation to the GOP nationa, convention next July 7. "Primaries, of course, have sig nificance," he said. "Whatever significance ours has will be con sidered by the delegation, to gether with many other factors, in reaching its' position on presi dential candidacies." The delegation will meet at Philadelphia May 24 in conjunc tion with a meeting of the Re publican state committee. Fine, as governor, will head the dele gation at the Chicago convention. Quaker Jo Discuss Religion, Culture "Oriental Religion and West ern Culture" will be the topic of Dr. Howard H. Brinton, director of Pendle Hill, a Quaker grad uate school, at a public lecture at &p.m - . tomorrow in 121 Sparks. The lecture is sponsored by the, Penn State Christian Association and the State College Friends Meeting. ' Dr. i3rinton is a student of philosophy and science and has written several books on religion including the theory and practice of Quakerism. He has traveled in Europe and the Far East. As director of Pendle Hill he is taking part in an educational ex periment to develop the spirit, mind, and body of the individual through a cooperative program of worship, education, and operation of the school plant.
